Oscar winning director Danny Boyles largely ignored scifi masterpiece? Not really original but still a fantastic visual and aural feast. The similarities to Event Horizon and the lesser known Dark Side of the Moon are there. But that's not a bad thing. Scifi doesn't have to be all space battles and starships you know. A little psychological scariness goes a long way. Our Danny is building quite a Speilberg-esq library it seems.

Take one pinch of the genre of the Gods; science fiction.
Add a spoonful of a God director; Boyle.
Set it on a space ship.
Result; great movie.
